Californian based Rovi will work with TPV Technology Limited to bring Philips branded DivX certified televisions to the Chinese market.

DivX Plus HD Certified devices allow high-quality playback of video up to 1080p, with over 750 million DivX devices having shipped worldwide to date.
DivX DRM technology embedded at chip level on every device allows secure access to a wide range of Hollywood movies and TV shows, plus Internet video over a multi-manufacturer ecosystem of consumer electronic devices.
Digital content can be transferred via optical disc, USB drives, SD cards or streamed to DLNA-compatible devices.

Rovi and TPV to Launch DivX Certified Philips TVs in China
Rovi Continues Momentum in Region by Entering Agreement with One of the World’s Largest Original Design Manufacturers
SANTA CLARA, CA, March 21, 2013 — Rovi Corporation (NASDAQ: ROVI), driving digital entertainment innovation, today announced it has reached an agreement for DivX® technology with TPV Technology Limited (“TPV” or “the Group”, SEHK: 00903; SGX: T18), a leading display solutions provider. TPV plans to add DivX Plus® HD Certification into Philips-branded TVs for distribution throughout China. The DivX Certified TV will enable consumers in Greater China to easily access and enjoy the wide range of premium and Internet video entertainment available in the DivX format.
The collaboration with TPV is the latest in a series of wins for Rovi in China. The company has signed agreements with a range of China-based OEMs and ODMs shipping worldwide, and is also gaining traction with entertainment service providers. Most recently, Rovi announced that Mei Ah Digital Ltd. (Mei Ah, a member of Mei Ah Entertainment Group), in collaboration with China Mobile Hong Kong Company Limited (China Mobile Hong Kong), is using DivX Plus Streaming™ to deliver premium entertainment services to mobile users in Hong Kong.
